Don’t Fall for the Devil’s Plan

Gospel

Mt 13:36-43

Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” He answered, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world, and the good seed means the sons of the kingdom; the weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the close of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the close of the age. The Son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

It’s time to take back your life.

It’s time to slow down to the speed of joy.

All revolutions have a moment when they begin. This is your moment.

Don’t Fall for the Devil’s Plan

What jumps out at you today jumps out at me is like Jesus talking about the devil here. And we almost never talk about these things. It's amazing that as Christians, as Catholics, we talk so little really about heaven and we talk almost never about hell or the devil or the evil things that Jesus is so often warning us about and obviously pointing out as realities. The devil has a plan for your life. You have to understand that. The devil has a plan for your life. And our culture leads us so easily into that plan. The devil's plan wants to distract you from what matters most. The devil plan, he wants to fill your life with noise so you can't hear the voice of God. The devil's plan isn't that complicated, but it's very, very, very effective. And unless we're thinking proactively, okay, what is God's plan for my life and thinking proactively, all right, what is the devil trying to lure me into in this phase of my life, we are going to end up in bad shape. That's the word that jumps out at me. But whatever word or idea or phrase jumps out at you, use it to anchor your day in the gospel. Have a great day and remember, Be Bold. Be Catholic.
